This weekend*, we are off to the Garden City of Christchurch, the largest city in the South Island. Located on the east coast and with stunning views towards the Southern Alps, Christchurch is a beautiful green city with a number of golf courses and tourist attractions.

Fly in on a Friday night and pick up your rental car for the weekend. Your first stop is the Peppers Clearwater Golf Resort, a very short drive from nearby Christchurch International Airport.

Clearwater Golf Course, named best in New Zealand and Oceania at the 2016 World Golf Awards, was built in the early 2000s and designed by John Darby alongside Bob Charles, New Zealand golfing royalty. A championship course, it has hosted many events and quite a few of the world's top players have spent time playing the course.

Next morning after a large breakfast, it's time to get into the carts and play a round at this wonderful championship course, admiring the waterways and the beautiful natural setting.

After your morning round, you will head into Christchurch and drop off your luggage at the exquisite George Hotel close to the beautiful Botanic Gardens in Hagley Park.  After a quick stroll through the gardens, it is time to drive east to the Port Hills and ride the Gondola to see 360 degree views and looking out across the Canterbury plains to the Southern Alps.

Returning to The George, you will be ready for a sumptious dinner and an excellent bottle of wine to consume as you chat about your premium golf weekend away. Enjoy the rest of the night.

The next day it is time to play one of two courses located close to the airport

With both courses located close to the airport, it is an easy drive afterwards to drop off your rental car and then catch your flight home. Savor your premium golf weekend away on the plane.
