Congratulations to Brooke Henderson for winning the inaugural LPGA in New Zealand golf event, the McKayson New Zealand Womens Open which due to inclement weather, turned out to be a 5 day affair! What a great tournament it was and congratulations must also go to the organisors, the tremendously good course at Windross Farm and all involved in getting the event here. We can't wait for next year!

In the meantime, as we mentioned yesterday, the next big golfing event in New Zealand is the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship to be held at Royal Wellington Golf Club on October 26-29. This will be the biggest golfing event ever held in New Zealand and broadcast around the world! It, along with the LPGA event, are great showcases of golf tournaments in New Zealand and the fantastic experiences one can have while here. See the video below of the Royal Wellington course.

Tuesday is usually our day on this blog where we share our "golf travel thoughts". If you are considering golf travel to New Zealand, then it is best to think of coming here to play golf in some of the most picturesque landscapes to be found on the earth. It is no secret that New Zealand is one of the most popular travel destinations because of its natural beauty. The golf courses are a perfect way to see all that while simultaneously enjoying rounds of quality golf.

Combine playing on golf courses that rated in the top 50 of the world with staying at some of the best luxury lodges to be found on the planet and you are in for a real treat. If you are into wine then New Zealand will tickle your taste buds to no end as you sample reds and whites right through the country. If you are into fishing, then the trout and salmon fly fishing options are plentiful. If you are into art or more cultural pursuits, then New Zealand can cater for that too. Whatever sort of golf traveler you are, then New Zealand is ready waiting for you!
